EveryMatrix has secured a supplier licence from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) as the province prepares to open its regulated iGaming market in July 2026.
Seventh North American Jurisdiction for EveryMatrix
The AGLC approval makes Alberta EveryMatrix’s seventh licensed North American jurisdiction. The company already holds active licences in Ontario — the only other Canadian province with a regulated open iGaming market — as well as in New Jersey, Michigan, West Virginia, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania in the United States.
Alberta’s iGaming framework is set to go live in July 2026, with the province’s model expected to follow Ontario’s regulated open-market structure, where licensed operators compete alongside the provincial lottery corporation. Registration for the Alberta market opened earlier this year, with suppliers and operators moving through the AGLC licensing process ahead of the commercial launch.
Ontario’s market, which launched in April 2022, generated C$4 billion in revenue in calendar year 2025 — a 34% increase year-on-year — and remains the primary benchmark for Alberta’s own rollout. Ontario’s sustained growth trajectory has reinforced the case for provincial expansion across Canada, and Alberta’s population of roughly 4.7 million and its standing as one of the country’s wealthiest provinces by per-capita income makes it one of the more commercially attractive markets to enter.

Tech Stack, Fantasma Games, and Third-Party Aggregation
EveryMatrix is deploying its full technology stack into the market alongside content from Fantasma Games, its Stockholm-based in-house development studio, and a library of aggregated third-party titles through its CasinoEngine platform.
Fantasma Games, which EveryMatrix acquired in 2021, distributes titles across multiple regulated markets in Europe and North America. Its inclusion in the Alberta rollout positions EveryMatrix to supply both platform infrastructure and proprietary content under a single licensed entity — a model that has become standard among B2B suppliers seeking deeper operator relationships in newly opened markets.
CasinoEngine carries content from hundreds of third-party studios, giving operators access to a broad game library without requiring direct integration agreements with each provider. In regulated markets like Alberta, where operators must source content from licensed suppliers only, an aggregation platform that holds its own licence reduces compliance overhead on both sides of the operator-supplier relationship.
Alberta Extends a Pattern of Methodical North American Licensing
The AGLC approval continues EveryMatrix’s approach of building out a licensed presence across North American jurisdictions sequentially. Its existing US licences span some of the largest regulated online casino markets in the country by gross gaming revenue. New Jersey and Michigan consistently rank among the top three US iGaming states on a monthly basis, and Pennsylvania and Connecticut add further coverage across the eastern and central market.
Adding Alberta at the pre-launch stage puts EveryMatrix in position to be operational from day one of commercial activity. Operators evaluating platform and content suppliers for Alberta will be assessing supplier readiness over the coming weeks, and holding an AGLC licence is the minimum threshold for consideration. The July launch window means integration timelines are already running.
Whether Alberta replicates Ontario’s growth pace will depend partly on how quickly operators ramp up player acquisition. The Ontario benchmark, however, gives both suppliers and operators a reasonably clear model to work from — and EveryMatrix now holds a licence in both Canadian provinces that have run that experiment.
