Partnership Strengthens Yggdrasil’s Balkan Footprint
Yggdrasil has entered into an agreement with Merkur to supply gaming content through the operator’s MerkurXtip brand in Serbia. The collaboration marks another step in Yggdrasil’s expansion across Eastern European markets, where the supplier has been building a presence through partnerships with established local operators.
The integration is being facilitated through Bragg Gaming, enabling the distribution of both Yggdrasil’s core gaming portfolio and curated third-party titles from the YGG Masters program. Serbian players accessing the MerkurXtip platform will now have access to titles including MexoMax 2 and Bob Marlin Goes Splashing, among others.
Serbia’s regulated gambling market has attracted increased operator and supplier attention due to its business environment and growth potential. The jurisdiction has established a licensing framework for online gaming operators, creating opportunities for content providers to enter the market through partnerships with locally licensed operators.
Executive Statements on Serbian Market Entry
Jose Kadala, Chief Commercial Officer at Yggdrasil, commented on the partnership’s significance for the supplier’s regional strategy.
“We are confident that it will be a roaring success as we deliver both our proven core titles and innovative YGG Masters content to players. Serbia represents an important growth market for us, and this deal demonstrates our commitment to providing operators with exceptional player experiences across regulated regions.”
Nenad Aleksić, Head of Online Casino at Merkur, highlighted the alignment between Yggdrasil’s content portfolio and MerkurXtip’s platform strategy.
“Yggdrasil’s reputation for creating engaging, high-quality gaming content made them an ideal partner for expanding our offering. With a creative approach to game creation and the broad portfolio via the YGG Masters program, their games are a perfect addition to our already strong slot stable.”
Recent Partnership Activity and Market Context
The Merkur agreement follows Yggdrasil’s partnership with Fruity Entertainment earlier in 2025, through which the supplier provides both proprietary and third-party content to the operator’s brands. The supplier has been pursuing distribution partnerships across multiple European jurisdictions as part of its growth strategy in regulated markets.
Serbia’s gambling market has been subject to regulatory discussions regarding advertising restrictions. Political groups in the country have proposed measures to limit gambling advertisement visibility, though specific legislation has not been enacted.
The partnership adds Serbia to Yggdrasil’s distribution footprint in the Balkans, where the supplier has been working to establish relationships with licensed operators across the region.
