Shuffle, a cryptocurrency-based gaming platform, has confirmed a data security incident involving Fast Track, one of its third-party service providers. The breach, which is currently under investigation, resulted in unauthorized access to user information stored on Fast Track’s systems.
According to a communication sent to Shuffle users, an unauthorized party gained access to Fast Track’s internal systems and obtained data including user emails, names, addresses, and transaction and betting records. The operator has emphasized that user accounts, funds, passwords, and login credentials remain secure, as no authentication data was stored with the third-party provider.
“We were made aware of this data security incident and immediately began working with Fast Track to understand the full scope of the breach,” the communication states. Shuffle is currently in ongoing discussions with Fast Track to assess the severity and impact of the incident, as well as to determine how the breach occurred.
Fast Track has reportedly confirmed that the breach has been contained and that no further risks to user data exist at this time. However, the investigation into the incident continues.
Despite assurances that user accounts and funds were not compromised, Shuffle has issued precautionary guidance to its user base. The platform recommends that users remain vigilant against potential phishing attempts and verify that two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled on their accounts.
“Shuffle remains committed to the security and safety of our users, and we are thoroughly disappointed that this has occurred,” the company stated in its user notification.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns about data security in the iGaming sector, particularly as operators increasingly rely on third-party service providers for various operational functions. As the investigation continues, affected users have been encouraged to contact Shuffle’s support team with any questions or concerns.
The full extent of the breach and the number of affected users has not been disclosed at this time. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses and more information becomes available from Fast Track systems.
