Payments provider MiFinity has appointed Ray Brash as Group Chief Operating Officer, adding an executive with more than three decades of payments and financial services experience to its leadership team as the company prepares for what it calls its next phase of international growth.
Brash will lead MiFinity’s product, project management and payments functions. The company said the role will support its continued expansion, product development and operational performance, and that Brash will help shape its long-term growth strategy.
Three decades in European payments
Brash arrives with senior executive roles at CleverCards, Flyfish, PPS (PrePay Solutions) and Edenred Payment Solutions behind him. He is also a founding member of The Payments Association’s advisory board, a position he continues to hold.
His track record centres on scaling payment businesses, an area MiFinity has made central to its pitch. The company operates the MiFinity eWallet and a wider payments platform serving merchants across iGaming and e-commerce, with the iGaming sector accounting for a significant share of its customer base.
MiFinity CEO Paul Kavanagh framed the hire as part of a deliberate investment in leadership capacity.
“Ray brings a wealth of experience and leadership in the payments industry, and we’re delighted to welcome him to MiFinity. His experience of building and scaling payment organisations will be invaluable as we continue our growth journey. We’ve built strong momentum over recent years, and Ray’s appointment reinforces our commitment to investing in exceptional leadership, delivering operational excellence, and creating even greater value for our customers, merchants and partners.”
Brash said he had followed the company’s trajectory before joining.
“I’ve followed MiFinity’s growth with great interest over recent years and have been impressed by both its ambition and the strength of its proposition. The business has established an outstanding platform for future growth, with a talented team, an expanding global customer base and a genuine commitment to innovation.”
Payments becomes a leadership priority
The appointment lands at a point where payments has moved up the agenda for iGaming operators and their suppliers. Regulatory scrutiny of deposits, withdrawals and affordability checks in markets including the UK and the Netherlands has turned payment infrastructure into a compliance function as much as a commercial one. Providers serving regulated operators face growing demands around KYC, AML and transaction monitoring, and executive hires with deep payments credentials reflect that shift.
MiFinity’s decision to place product, project management and payments under a single group COO suggests the company wants tighter coordination between what it builds and how it processes transactions. For a provider whose merchant base spans multiple regulated jurisdictions, that structure puts one executive in charge of both the roadmap and the operational risk attached to it.
The hire also adds to a busy run of senior appointments across the industry in early 2026. FanDuel named Ari Avishay as SVP of Marketing in February, while Las Vegas Sands promoted Patrick Dumont to CEO and Chairman in the same month. On the supplier side, companies are pairing leadership moves with expansion targets, as Soft2bet did when it reported 85% revenue growth alongside its 2026 plans.
What comes next
MiFinity has not attached specific market entries or product launches to the appointment, but the language around it points in one direction. Kavanagh referenced a “growth journey” and Brash’s remit explicitly covers expansion support. With product and payments now consolidated under Brash, the clearest signal of the company’s direction will be where its platform investment lands over the remainder of 2026 and which regulated markets it targets next.
