Corrections policy

Last updated

We aim to get every fact right. When we get one wrong, we fix it quickly and say that we did.

How to report an error

Write to press@epicwins.io with the address of the article and what you believe is wrong. Every article also has a "Contact the editors" link that opens an email with the article title filled in. An editor reads every message.

What we correct

  • Factual errors: wrong names, numbers, dates, titles, quotes or descriptions. We correct the text and add a note that says what was changed and when.
  • Missing context: when new information changes the meaning of a story, we update the article and show the date of the update.
  • Spelling and small language fixes: corrected without a note, because the meaning does not change.

How corrections are shown

A corrected article carries a short note at the end that states the error and the date of the correction. When an article is updated, the date of the update is shown next to the publication date.

Removing articles

We do not remove published articles on request. An article is removed only when the law requires it or when it cannot be corrected. If that happens, a note at the same address explains why.

Errors in a press release or in featured content are corrected at the request of the company that supplied it. The label stays in place.
