Gonzo’s Quest is one of NetEnt’s most famous slots, first released on 15 March 2010. Gonzo stands beside the reels and celebrates big wins with a moonwalk. Instead of spinning reels, the game drops stone blocks into place, on a 5×3 grid with 20 paylines. The max win is 2,200x the bet.
Gameplay
When a win lands on a payline, the winning blocks explode and new symbols tumble down to fill the gaps. NetEnt calls this the Avalanche. Each Avalanche raises the win multiplier by 1, up to x5 in the main game, and a progress bar in the top right corner of the stone grid shows the current value. A spin without a win resets the multiplier. Wilds arrive as large stone blocks and substitute for any paying symbol. They can also stand in for Free Fall Scatters, which helps players reach the bonus round.
Free Fall
Three Free Fall Scatters on reels 1, 2 and 3 trigger the Free Fall feature with 10 Free Spins. Avalanches still apply, but the win multiplier can now climb as high as x15, three times the cap in the main game. More Free Fall Scatters during the round retrigger the Free Spins.
RTP, volatility and max win
The RTP is 95.97% and the hit frequency is 41%. Playin rates the volatility at 6.7 out of 10. Bets range from €0.20 to €50, and the max win is 2,200x the bet.
