Dragic, who has served as co-CEO alongside Jimmy Maymann since September 2024, will resume full executive leadership of the Bucharest-based operator. Maymann will transition to a board member role, continuing his involvement with the company in an advisory capacity.
The leadership change comes as part of a broader organizational restructure at Superbet, which operates in Romania, Poland, Brazil, and Belgium.
Leadership Team Reshuffled
Current Chief Operating Officer Albert Simsensohn will be promoted to Deputy CEO, supporting Dragic in the company’s strategic direction. Simsensohn’s COO position will be filled by Eamonn O’Loughlin, currently serving as Chief Commercial Officer for International.
O’Loughlin will maintain his commercial responsibilities outside Central and Eastern Europe while taking on additional oversight of customer operations and partnerships.
The operator stated that a streamlined CEO office structure will support Dragic’s return to sole leadership, enabling him to focus on shaping the company’s long-term vision, culture, and strategic alliances.
Background on Leadership Changes
Dragic originally stepped down as Superbet CEO in August 2019 and was succeeded by former Paddy Power Betfair executive Johnny Hartnett. Maymann took over from Hartnett in January 2024, bringing experience from his tenure as CEO of The Huffington Post.
The latest appointments follow other recent executive additions, including Josephine Hus as Chief Transformation Officer in May and Borut Petek as Chief Global Affairs Officer earlier this month.
In February, Superbet secured a €1.3 billion refinancing agreement with Blackstone to support its global expansion plans.
Executive Statements
“I want to recognize Jimmy Maymann, whose leadership and partnership have shaped much of our progress to date. Over the past couple of years, we have achieved remarkable results, advancing our product and technology capabilities, strengthening our position in key markets and building a culture of financial discipline and accountability. This planned evolution of our leadership team marks a natural step in our growth journey. It reflects the maturity of our organization and our ambition to push forward, positioning Superbet for the next phase of sustainable global expansion.”
— Sacha Dragic, Superbet CEO
“When Sacha first asked me to join the board three years ago, our ambition was made clear: to transform Superbet into a global challenger built on world-class product and technology platform. It was necessary to accelerate that change from within, and I took the lead on that chapter of transformation. Together, we have achieved a lot: launching Brazil, growing our actives, revenue and EBITDA while strengthening our product and tech stack, and now, with the migration of Romania to our own platform, we are nearing completion of our first phase of transformation. As we prepare for the next phase, simplifying how we operate will help us move even faster, with a single-threaded leader, our founder, Sacha Dragic. It’s been a privilege to work with Sacha and the whole Superbet team and I’ll continue to do so as an adviser and as part of the group’s board. This is a great company with a huge potential ahead and I’ll stay engaged and help see it materialize.”
