The sports data technology provider received approval from the GCGRA, an independent federal entity responsible for regulating, licensing, and supervising all commercial gaming activities in the UAE. The licence is operational with immediate effect.
The approval allows Sportradar to provide its full range of products and services to licensed operators in the country, including its proprietary sports technology, data analytics, and integrity monitoring solutions.
"Sportradar looks forward to bringing its 20+ year expertise and proprietary sports technology to operators and clients in the region."
UAE’s Growing Supplier Network
As of October 21, 2025, 17 companies have secured gaming-related vendor licences from the GCGRA. This list includes Aristocrat, Light & Wonder, Novomatic, IGT, EQL Games, Scientific Games, Fennica Gaming, TCS John Huxley, Konami Gaming, Pollard Banknote, Random State, and Yolo Group’s Hub88 and Live88.
On the B2C side, Wynn Resorts holds the only land-based gaming licence for its Wynn Al Marjan Island property in Ras Al Khaimah, scheduled to open in March 2027. The state-owned UAE Lottery operator, The Game, currently holds the sole lottery licence.
The UAE government established the GCGRA in 2023 to oversee development of a domestic gaming sector. Gaming activities will be restricted to overseas visitors only due to religious considerations, though the sector is expected to play a role in the country’s tourism diversification strategy.
Sportradar’s Regional Expansion
The UAE licence adds to Sportradar’s expanding global footprint as the Switzerland-based company continues to target high-growth markets. CEO Carsten Koerl indicated earlier this year that APAC markets represent a key focus area, with Thailand, Sri Lanka, Japan, and India among the regions of interest.
The company reported 17% revenue growth in Q1 2025 and continued double-digit growth through Q2. Sportradar has also secured long-term partnerships with major sports organizations including UEFA and the NBA to provide data analytics, real-time integrity monitoring, and betting technology solutions.
In October 2025, the UK Competition and Markets Authority approved Sportradar’s $125 million acquisition of IMG Arena from Endeavour Holdings, further expanding the company’s sports betting and media capabilities.
Sportradar’s product portfolio includes 4Sight, which enables operators to overlay player statistics on live streams for enhanced betting engagement, along with AI-driven data analytics and integrity systems designed to detect and prevent match-fixing.
