UK Gambling Commission Suspends Spribe OÜ Operating Licence Over Hosting Violations

: The UK Gambling Commission has suspended the operating licence of Spribe OÜ (licence no. 057302-R-333085-003) effective immediately, citing serious non-compliance with hosting requirements under its regulatory framework.

The suspension follows a formal review conducted under Section 118(2) of the Gambling Act 2005, with the regulator determining the action was necessary on grounds of suitability.

According to the Commission, Spribe OÜ has been in serious breach of the hosting requirements established within the UK’s licensing framework. The regulator has instructed the operator to cease all hosting activity immediately unless and until it obtains a suitable hosting licence.

Regulatory Framework and Criminal Liability

Under Section 33 of the Gambling Act 2005, providing facilities for gambling in Great Britain without a valid licence from the Gambling Commission constitutes a criminal offence, unless a specific exemption applies.

The Commission emphasized its zero-tolerance approach to unlicensed gambling activity, stating that it maintains the highest standards of compliance and integrity across all licensed entities operating within its jurisdiction.

Immediate Impact and Operator Obligations

The suspension took effect immediately as of October 30, 2025. Spribe OÜ is now required to notify all parties affected by service disruptions and ensure that all operations remain halted in accordance with the conditions of its operating licence until further notice.

The regulator has not indicated a timeline for when the review process will be completed or under what conditions the licence suspension might be lifted.

Spribe OÜ operates in the iGaming sector, providing software solutions for online gaming operators across multiple jurisdictions.
