Market Context Pennsylvania is one of three US states where iGaming is legal alongside Michigan and New Jersey, and its online segment is now the single largest revenue category in the state’s gaming mix, having overtaken retail slots on a monthly basis. The PGCB regulates 17 land-based casinos alongside online casino games, retail and online sports wagering, video gaming terminals, and fantasy contests. With iGaming slots alone generating $194.8m in January, the digital channel now accounts for more than one-third of total state gaming revenue. The trajectory points to continued expansion as operator investment in digital product continues. The PGCB’s next monthly report will cover February, which includes Super Bowl LX activity — a period when prediction market platforms also reported record volumes — suggesting sports wagering handle and revenue figures may shift materially from January’s results.
