Leadership Appointment Delaware North CEO Lou Jacobs Elected American Gaming Association Chairman Bartosz MichaelNovember 19, 202509 views The American Gaming Association Board of Directors has elected Louis "Lou" M. Jacobs, Chief Executive Officer of Delaware North, as the association's next chairman. Jacobs will begin his two-year term in January 2026, succeeding former Everi Chairman and CEO Michael Rumbolz, who has served in the role since January 2024. Jacobs brings extensive experience across the gaming and hospitality sectors to his new leadership position. As CEO of Delaware North, a family-owned global hospitality and entertainment company, he oversees the company’s operating subsidiaries with a focus on strategic growth, corporate governance, and financial management. Delaware North’s gaming division operates a portfolio of regional casinos and gaming destinations across eight states. The company also runs sports betting operations through its Betly brand in Arkansas, Tennessee, Ohio, and West Virginia, along with iGaming offerings in West Virginia. “It’s an honor to lead the AGA at such a dynamic time. I look forward to building on AGA’s success and working with CEO Bill Miller and the Board to ensure legal gaming remains a strong economic engine for communities across the country.” Jacobs, the grandson of Delaware North founder Louis Jacobs and son of current chairman Jeremy Jacobs, has been with the company since 1986. He has served as CEO since 2015, sharing the role with his brothers, Jerry and Charlie. He is already a member of the AGA’s CEO Roundtable. Industry Leadership at a Critical Juncture AGA President and CEO Bill Miller praised the selection, highlighting Jacobs’ comprehensive industry knowledge and leadership experience. “Lou’s tremendous experience across the gaming and hospitality ecosystem makes him an exceptional choice to be AGA’s next chairman. His perspective as a long-time industry leader and active board member of the AGA will be instrumental as we continue to champion policies that strengthen and sustain our industry.” The leadership transition comes as the gaming industry faces several challenges, including competition from unlicensed online gaming operators and evolving regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions. Outgoing Chairman’s Accomplishments During Rumbolz’s tenure as AGA chairman, the association advanced key policy wins at both federal and state levels, strengthened responsible gaming programs, and led industry efforts to combat illegal gambling. Miller acknowledged Rumbolz’s contributions to the organization and the broader gaming sector. “Mike’s leadership has been invaluable to both me and the AGA. His insight and steady hand have helped guide legal gaming through a period of continued growth and transformation.” Beyond Gaming Outside his corporate responsibilities, Jacobs maintains active involvement in community service. He serves on the board of directors for FeedMore WNY, a nonprofit organization working to alleviate hunger across Western New York, and chairs the organization’s capital campaign. He also serves on the board of directors for the UB Foundation, which supports the University at Buffalo, and is a member of the Everglades Foundation’s Chairman’s Advisory Council. Jacobs’ appointment reflects the AGA’s commitment to leadership that understands both the commercial and regulatory dimensions of the legal gaming industry as it continues to expand across the United States.
